This website

This site doesn't ask you for any personal information. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics or advertising tags, and has no contact forms. Its fonts and images are served from the site itself.

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes basic technical information such as your IP address and browser type to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks.

Links to other websites, such as Practice Better, the regulator or crisis services, are covered by those sites' own privacy policies.

Booking and client records

Online booking, appointment reminders, video sessions and client records are handled through Practice Better, a practice management platform. When you choose Book, you leave this site for Practice Better, which has its own privacy policy and terms.

Practice Better's policy says information may be stored and processed outside your province or country. Where information is held outside Canada, authorities in that country may be able to access it under their laws.

Practice Better's booking pages also load analytics and advertising tools, for example from Google, Meta and Microsoft. These are run by Practice Better, not by Lisa. If you would rather not use the online booking pages, email Lisa to book.

What Lisa collects and why

Lisa collects personal health information directly from you whenever possible. This includes your contact details, the reasons you are seeking care, relevant health history, notes from your sessions, and billing records.

She uses this information to:

  • provide counselling, acupuncture and wellness care
  • contact you about appointments
  • process payments and issue receipts for insurance claims
  • keep the records her profession requires
  • meet her legal and professional obligations

Lisa shares your information only with your consent, or where the law requires or allows it. Examples include a serious risk of harm to you or someone else, a child who may need protection, a court order, or a requirement of her regulator.

Your information is never used for marketing, testimonials or anything unrelated to your care.

Seeing or correcting your record

You have the right to see and get a copy of your personal health information, and to ask Lisa to correct it if you believe it is wrong. Send your request to Lisa in writing, by email or by mail to the address above. She will respond within the time limits PHIA sets and explain any part of a request she cannot meet.

Email

Email is not a secure way to share private information. Please use it for questions and scheduling only, and keep health details for your sessions. Email is not checked around the clock and must not be used in a crisis. If you need help now, call or text 988 or see urgent help.
